๐ŸŽ๐ŸŒ Transform overripe bananas and fresh apples into a moist, flavorful bread that’s perfect for breakfast or dessert
๐Ÿฅ– Enjoy the perfect combination of tender fruit, warm spices, and crunchy nuts in this easy-to-make homemade bread

  • Total Time: 1 hour 45 minutes
  • Yield: 1 loaf (10 slices) 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

3 tablespoons sour cream

1 to 2 bananas, mashed

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon salt

2 apples, cored and chopped

1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

1-First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a bread pan to avoid sticking. This sets the stage for even baking and makes cleanup easier later. Next, cream the butter and both sugars together until smooth, then beat in the eggs one at a time.

2-Stir in the sour cream, mashed bananas, and vanilla to add moisture and flavor. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt thoroughly. Gradually add the dry mix to the wet ingredients, blending gently to keep the batter light.

3-Fold in the chopped apples and nuts for extra texture and taste. Spoon the batter into your prepared pan and bake for about 1 hour, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let it rest in the pan for 5 minutes before cooling on a rack.

Notes

๐ŸŽ Use very ripe bananas with brown spots for the best natural sweetness and moisture in your bread
๐ŸŒก๏ธ Monitor baking time carefully – overbaking can result in dry bread, so start checking at 50 minutes
๐Ÿฅ– For a healthier version, replace butter with applesauce and use low-fat yogurt instead of sour cream
