Ingredients
– 3 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts trimmed of fat
– 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce
– 1/2 medium onion, grated (including juice)
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
– 2 tablespoons brown sugar
Instructions
1-Combine all sauce ingredients in a 5-6 quart slow cooker to create the base.
2-Add the chicken breasts and turn to coat with the sauce; cover and cook on high for 2 to 3 hours or on low for 6 to 7 hours. Check early to avoid overcooking, and know it’s ready when it hits 165ΛF and shreds easily.
3-Transfer the chicken to a cutting board and shred each breast using two forks for that perfect pulled texture.
4-Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir it into the sauce for full flavor before serving.
