🌢️ Enjoy the bold, smoky flavors combined with a sweet maple glaze in this Chili Bacon Cream Cheese Spread.
πŸ§€ Perfect as a snack or appetizer, it offers a delightful crunchy texture with every bite thanks to chili onion crunch and crispy bacon.

  • Total Time: 45-50 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

– 1/2 pound thick-cut bacon

– 1/2 cup maple syrup Adds sweetness and balance

– 2 tablespoons soy sauce

– 2 to 3 tablespoons chili onion crunch Delivers spicy crunch

– 10 to 12 sliced chives

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1 brick (8 ounces) cream cheese Provides creamy texture

– 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

– 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

– Black pepper to taste

– Crackers for serving

Instructions

1-First, cut the bacon into bite-sized pieces and cook in a skillet until golden and crisp. Then, add the sliced chives and sautΓ© for 5 minutes before removing everything with a slotted spoon and draining on paper towels. This step takes about 5 minutes and sets the base for the spread’s savory crunch.

2-Next, in a small saucepan, combine the maple syrup, soy sauce, and vanilla extract. Simmer on very low heat for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens. Be sure to watch it closely to avoid burning, as heat can vary on different stoves.

3-After that, add the cooked bacon to the pan and simmer for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Mix in the garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper to taste at this point. While this simmers, soften the cream cheese by leaving it out for 20 to 30 minutes.

4-Once everything is ready, spread the chili onion crunch over the cream cheese and pour the bacon maple mixture on top. For a finishing touch, sprinkle black pepper and chives over the spread. Finally, serve it with crackers and enjoy the result of your efforts.
