๐ŸŽ„ Christmas Truffles offer a rich, indulgent treat perfect for holiday celebrations, combining creamy chocolate with festive decorations.
๐Ÿซ These homemade truffles are easy to customize and make great gifts or party favors, bringing joy with every bite.

  • Total Time: 2 hours 40 minutes
  • Yield: About 20 truffles

Ingredients

– 8 ounces semi-sweet baking chocolate bar, finely chopped (or two 4-ounce bars)

– ยฝ cup heavy cream

– ยฝ teaspoon vanilla extract

– Holiday sprinkles for decoration (optional)

– Holiday icing for decoration (optional)

– 8 ounces semi-sweet, dark, or white baking chocolate bar for coating (optional)

Instructions

1-Place the finely chopped semi-sweet chocolate in a medium bowl to begin.

2-Heat ยฝ cup heavy cream to a very light simmer without boiling, then pour it over the chopped chocolate along with ยฝ teaspoon vanilla extract; stir until smooth and melted, microwaving briefly if needed.

3-Cover the mixture with plastic wrap directly touching the chocolate to prevent condensation, then chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours until set.

4-Scoop 1 tablespoon portions of the mixture and roll into balls; if sticky, freeze for a few minutes and wet hands with cold water before continuing.

5-Decorate truffles with holiday sprinkles or dip in melted chocolate and add icing or additional toppings as desired.

6-Allow decorated truffles to set on a tray for a few minutes, then refrigerate for another 20-30 minutes if coated.

7-Serve truffles at room temperature for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

๐Ÿซ Use high-quality semi-sweet or dark chocolate and finely chop for even melting.
โ„๏ธ Refrigerate mixture to reduce stickiness; freeze briefly before shaping if needed.
๐Ÿฅ› Heavy cream yields a richer texture than milk or half-and-half.
