๐ŸŒถ๏ธ Create your own custom spicy spirits at home with this simple infusion technique that transforms any alcohol into a perfectly balanced heat-infused base for cocktails
๐Ÿน Impress your guests with homemade spicy tequila, vodka, or whiskey that adds an exciting kick to margaritas, bloody marys, or your favorite mixed drinks

  • Total Time: 2 hours 5 minutes to 1 week 5 minutes
  • Yield: 16 ounces infused alcohol

Ingredients

– 16 ounces (approximately 473 ml) alcohol for base to absorb chili’s essence

– 3 medium-sized chili peppers for core spicy notes

– 1 teaspoon black peppercorns for subtle peppery warmth

– 1 tablespoon sugar for balancing heat

Instructions

1-First, prepare your workspace by gathering 16 ounces of alcohol and 3 medium-sized chili peppers. Wash and dry the peppers thoroughly to ensure they’re clean.

2-Second, slice or pierce the chili peppers to increase surface area, which speeds up flavor extraction.

3-Third, place the chili slices into a clean glass jar and pour the alcohol over them, making sure everything is submerged.

4-Fourth, seal the jar and store it in a cool, dark place. Shake gently every day and taste periodically to check the heat level.

5-Fifth, once the desired intensity is reached, strain out the chili peppers using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove solids.

6-Finally, transfer the infused alcohol to a sealed container for storage and use it in cocktails or recipes.

Notes

๐ŸŒถ๏ธ For faster infusion, slice the peppers thinly or roughly chop them to increase surface area and speed up flavor extraction
๐ŸงŠ Store the infused alcohol in a cool, dark place and always strain out the peppers to prevent contamination and extend shelf life
๐Ÿ”ฅ Start with fewer peppers than you think you need – you can always add more heat, but you can’t easily remove it once infused
