🥔 These Loaded Tater Tots Skewers offer a fun, shareable snack packed with savory toppings, perfect for parties or casual gatherings.
🧀 Featuring crispy tots, melted cheese, and bacon, paired with a creamy tangy dip, this recipe delivers satisfying flavors in every bite.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 16 skewers (about 8 servings, 2 skewers per person)

Ingredients

– 32 frozen tater tots Forms the crispy base for each skewer

– Approximately 8 slices of bacon or about 100 grams Adds a smoky, crunchy element to the toppings

– 1 to 1.5 cups shredded cheese (a mix of cheddar and mozzarella or your preferred melting cheese) Provides that gooey, savory melt

– 2 tablespoons chopped green onions or chives Brings a fresh, sharp kick for garnish

– 1/2 cup sour cream Creates a creamy dip to balance the richness

– 1/4 cup mayonnaise (a creamy style made with egg yolks for the best texture) Enhances the dip’s smoothness

– 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning blend or similar seasoning Infuses flavor into the dip

– Salt and pepper to taste Seasons everything perfectly

– 1/4 cup diced jalapeño peppers or pickled jalapeños Optional

– 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion Optional

– chopped cilantro Optional

– cooked chorizo or ground beef about 100 grams Optional

– packaged bacon bits Optional

– plant-based meat and non-dairy cheese alternatives Optional

Instructions

1-Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Spread the 32 frozen tater tots in a single layer, leaving space between each for even crispiness, and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping once halfway through.

2-In a bowl, mix 1/2 cup sour cream, 1/4 cup mayonnaise, and 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning to create a delicious dip. Refrigerate it until you’re ready to serve, allowing the flavors to blend.

3-While the tater tots bake, cook the approximately 8 slices of bacon until crispy, then drain the excess fat and chop into small pieces for the toppings.

4-Let the tater tots cool slightly before threading four per skewer using wooden skewers about 10-12 cm long. Place the assembled skewers close together on the baking sheet.

5-Sprinkle 1 to 1.5 cups shredded cheese over the skewers and add the chopped bacon either before broiling for extra crunch or after, based on your preference.

6-Broil on high for 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts and bubbles, enhancing the savory toppings.

7-Garnish with 2 tablespoons chopped green onions or chives, and serve immediately with the prepared sour cream dip for the best taste.
