Ingredients
– 4 cups heavy cream, chilled overnight
– 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk, chilled overnight
– 1 pinch salt
– 4 ripe mangos, chopped or sliced
– 2 packs graham crackers, from 1 box
Instructions
1-First Step: Prep the mangos Peel the 4 ripe mangos, then chop or slice them and set them aside. Try to cut them into even pieces so each layer has a balanced amount of fruit. If your mangos are very juicy, let them sit for a minute so extra liquid does not make the layers too wet.
2-Second Step: Whip the cream mixture Pour the 4 cups of chilled heavy cream into a cold mixing bowl. Whip it until soft peaks form. Add the pinch of salt and the 1/2 cup chilled sweetened condensed milk, then continue whipping until stiff peaks form. The mixture should look fluffy and hold its shape well.
3-Third Step: Prepare the graham crackers Crush 2 packs of graham crackers to your preferred crumb size, or keep them whole if you like more structure in each bite. Crushed crackers give a softer dessert, while whole pieces add a little more crunch at the start before they absorb the cream.
4-Fourth Step: Build the first layer Use an 8 x 8 inch glass container for the best layering effect. Start with a layer of graham crackers on the bottom. Spread a layer of whipped cream over the crackers, then add a layer of sliced mangos. Make sure the fruit reaches the corners so every serving gets a little mango in it.
5-Fifth Step: Repeat the layers Add another layer of graham crackers, followed by more whipped cream and more mangos. Repeat the layers once more, ending with whipped cream and sliced mangos on top. This gives the dessert a pretty finish and helps show off the fruit.
6-Sixth Step: Add the finishing touch If you want, sprinkle extra graham cracker crumbs on top for decoration. This makes the dessert look even more inviting and adds a little crunch to the top layer.
7-Final Step: Chill before serving Cover the dish and refrigerate it overnight for a soft, creamy texture. If you want an ice cream-like texture, freeze it overnight instead, then let it thaw for 30 minutes before serving. Either way, the dessert tastes best when it has time to rest and set.
