Ingredients
4–5 fresh mint leaves, roughly torn
1/2 to 1 ounce simple syrup (adjust per taste)
Crushed ice (amount to fill the glass almost to the top)
Splash of cold water
2 ounces bourbon
Sprig of fresh mint for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1-Add the mint leaves and simple syrup to the bottom of a serving glass. Muddle them together using a muddler or the handle of a wooden spoon.
2-Fill the glass almost to the top with plenty of crushed ice, allowing it to mound slightly if needed.
3-Pour in a splash of cold water followed by the bourbon.
4-Stir the mixture, garnish with a sprig of fresh mint if desired, and serve immediately.
