πŸͺ Classic buttery cookies that melt in your mouth with the perfect nutty crunch and delicate powdered sugar coating
πŸŽ„ Traditional holiday treat that’s easy to make and perfect for gifting, cookie exchanges, and festive gatherings

  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 24 cookies 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup unsalted butter

Β½ cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

2 ΒΌ cups all-purpose flour

ΒΌ teaspoon salt

ΒΎ cup finely chopped nuts

powdered sugar for rolling

Instructions

1-Using an electric mixer, beat the softened butter, Β½ cup powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract until the mixture is fluffy and well combined.

2-Gradually add the 2 ΒΌ cups all-purpose flour and ΒΌ teaspoon salt, mixing until the dough comes together smoothly. Don’t rush this step, as it ensures the dough holds its shape.

3-Stir in the ΒΎ cup finely chopped nuts by hand for even distribution, adding a wonderful crunch to each bite.

4-If the dough feels too soft, chill it in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes to make it easier to handle.

5-Scoop out tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place them on the prepared cookie sheets, spacing them about an inch apart.

6-Bake for 7 to 8 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly golden. Keep an eye on them to prevent over-baking.

7-Remove from the oven, let cool for a minute, then roll each cookie in additional powdered sugar to coat. Once fully cooled on a rack, you can re-roll them for extra sweetness if desired.

Notes

πŸͺ Avoid packing flour and powdered sugar when measuring for the best texture and consistency
πŸ₯› Use a cookie scoop for uniformly sized cookies that bake evenly and look professional
🌰 Finely chop nuts for better cookie cohesion – larger pieces can cause the cookies to crumble
