๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Enjoy crispy, flavorful appetizers made easy with this Air Fryer Toasted Ravioli recipe that delivers perfect crunch without deep frying.
โšก Quick to prepare and healthier than traditional fried versions, these ravioli make a tasty, convenient snack or party dish.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 package fresh or frozen ravioli (fresh preferred; if frozen, thaw on counter for 1 hour)

1 large egg for the egg coating

1 tablespoon water for the egg coating

1 tablespoon whole wheat flour (white flour is acceptable, for the egg coating)

3/4 cup breadcrumbs for the crumb coating

1 teaspoon dried oregano for the crumb coating

1 teaspoon dried basil for the crumb coating

1 teaspoon dried thyme for the crumb coating

1/4 teaspoon salt for the crumb coating

1/8 teaspoon black pepper for the crumb coating

2 tablespoons fine parmesan cheese for the crumb coating

Oil spray for cooking and finishing (quantity as needed)

Instructions

1-Start: First, bring water to a boil in a medium pot, add the ravioli, and boil for 3 minutes. Drain them in a colander and let them cool slightly. This step is crucial for fresh ravioli to soften the pasta without overcooking it.

2-Prepare mixtures: Next, whisk together 1 large egg, 1 tablespoon water, and 1 tablespoon whole wheat flour in a medium bowl to create the egg mixture. In another bowl, combine 3/4 cup breadcrumbs, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1 teaspoon dried basil, 1 teaspoon dried thyme, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/8 teaspoon black pepper, and 2 tablespoons fine parmesan cheese for the crumb mixture.

3-Coat ravioli: Set up an assembly line with the egg mixture and crumb mixture. Dip 2-3 ravioli at a time into the egg mixture, lift with tongs to let excess drip, then coat thoroughly in the crumb mixture. Arrange the coated ravioli in the air fryer basket without touching, and lightly spray the tops with oil spray.

4-Cook ravioli: Cook at 370 degrees Fahrenheit for 4 minutes, then flip the ravioli, spray lightly again, and cook for another 3 minutes. Repeat until all are done, and serve with dipping sauces like marinara or ranch. For those without an air fryer, you can bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes, flip, spray, and bake 5-7 more minutes for extra crispiness.
